Working with Josh Rivet and his team was truly a wonderful experience. The whole process flowed seamlessly from Day One and ending with the final walk-through. The end result captured our ideas and his attention to detail far surpassed our expectations. He made it a pleasant experience when it could have been quite stressful. The project finished earlier than originally estimated due to their consistent daily work. The level of communication throughout the process of building our two story addition was outstanding. We had the pleasure of contracting J Rivet Construction to build our second story addition over our garage and part of our house. Considering that the roof over our garage, guest bedroom and bathroom, and parts of our kitchen had to be totally demolished to allow for our addition, Josh and his team had a difficult task at hand requiring the need to meticulously plan the demo and rebuild schedule.   From start to finish, J. Rivet Construction maintained the fast paced schedule and provided a quality addition. He and his subcontractor team were always professional and inconvenienced us as little as possible. I met Josh soon after our home on Broussard withstood extensive hurricane damage several years ago. The renovations we needed were overwhelming and required us to move out of the house.  When I met with Josh and he gave me the timeline I did not believe him. The prospect of renovating our 1940s Southdowns ranch was a daunting one for our family. We were fresh off the type of nightmare scenario with a pool contractor that you might see featured on a HGTV program. In addition to that, we would have to live through the construction in the functioning half of our house (with a newborn) while contending each day for six months with a revolving cast of anonymous workers tromping through our living space. To say we had a bit of trepidation going into the project would be an understatement.   I am enthused to report our experience was wonderful and I can’t say enough good things about the way Josh conducts his business. I believe what differentiates great from merely average is how things are handled when setbacks are encountered. Our project was beset by theft, delays with material orders and a host of day to day concerns that can fray the emotions of a family like ours. Josh handled each challenge with a cool detachment that made us feel comfortable at a time that was anything but. And, if I might offer up one last detail that sticks out in my memory, it is that he kept our jobsite immaculate. You can’t understand what an enormous psychological advantage that is on a day to day basis until you have lived through construction with fast food wrappers and sawdust littering every square inch of space you can see (which we have).   Our project was five years ago and I can only imagine that Josh has continued to hone his skill and craft since. I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again, which I suppose is the best endorsement I could give.
